Land grab victims protest in Saigon in memorial of April 30

Như Ngọc (Danlambao) - On April 28 and 29, hundreds of landless farmers from various provinces gathered together in Saigon to stage protests, accusing and condemning the Communist regime of deceiving the people of Vietnam about the so-called national liberation, reunification, rebuilding an independent, free and prosperous Vietnam, etc. In fact, it was an invasion of South Vietnam, stripping away the right of leadership and governance of the former South Vietnamese Government at gunpoint and replacing it with a totalitarian regime. The unexpected victors, who came to the cities in April 1975 wearing only a poorly made military outfit with the AK 47 assault rifle, have robbed away the freedom, material wealth and lands of ordinary people and farmers to enrich the communist rulers.

Hundreds of farmers have marched through the streets in Saigon and gathered at the U.S. Consulate to denounce the crimes of the communist regime in Vietnam that they have taken advantage of the patriotism of many Vietnamese generations to make war in order to gain power at the cost of millions of innocent Vietnamese. Now they rule the country with an iron fist and pursue a coward foreign policy with Vietnam’s traditional enemy.

The security apparatus, including regime-hired thugs, have threatened to make arrest and carry out a brutal repression, but the protesters have overcome fears to continue chanting slogans against the single-party communist system. The indomitable courage and strength of the protesting farmers are the precious source of inspiration and encouragement to millions of people in Vietnam living under the bloody hands of the communist regime. It is promising that more protests will take place in Saigon and other cities across the country in the upcoming April 30.
